Another Co to visit IBA:
Godrej Hi Care.
IBA was vennue for Off-Campus Selection of no of Bschools Students aroung Blore.
It was looking for Operations Specialisation and Engg backgrond.
Package was in the bracket 2.5- 3 CTC
Also offered Sales and Mktg Job with a lesser PAckage, which Ibaians readily declined and walked out!!!
Alas! This batch has become more Choosy!!! But i guess it is more of where each one of us want to go and would take a plunge only when we are sure this is the right co. So only money dont excite us... NB: Oracle offer drew a very limited interests!! Even Brand name doesnt excite us...
The thing that excite us, Value addition 3 years down the line from that job, Learnings, Responsibility, brand name and lastly money ...( In the same order!!!)

One of the most fun-filled night of our life@IBA. On the eve of Durgasthami, Bengali community here in IBA organized a memorable Lunch. Full of sweets which i really love. Mess Building decorated with flowers was looking stunning.
On top of it, G7 ( They have a exciting history, To know more search orkut groups) enacted a skit "Ramaleela" ala Modern Ramaleela. Although Our Midterm is looming large i.e due on Tuesday, these guys put it their heart out to perform and entertain us.
Ravan aka Shaggy was outstanding so as others. Cheers to them for having started this innovative way of celebrating Durga puja every year. Drama although a very rare thing in MBA circuit, is infact a good change and enjoyment was superb.
Cant forget the spoof on our Emran Hasmi who happens to be going out with a Junior gal!!!

0950 HRS, 01/10/2006, SAC CLASS PPT
The next comapny to visit our campus was Technip India Ltd. A off-shore, on shore ,downstream engineering and exploration company. Basically The HR Ravindran who was supposed to come at 12.30 reached campus at 2.15, and after that gave a Good Lecture on transforming India. So much for setting an example!!!
He happens to be an NRI, who thinks he is doing a favour by coming to India..Although some what inspiring the whole of his talk seem very boastful and chest beating!!!
Basically he came to pick guys with Mechnaical engg background with HR specialisation. But for this whole of batch was made to wait. what is Mktg to do with this profile?? what is Finance to do with this Job???so where is the point calling all to attend this HR PPT??
And If Co has committed to come by a time, they should get a dressing down if they cant honor that commitment. They cant treat as beggers and think they r doing a favour by giving a job!!! As much we want them , they also want us.
Atleast they should hav a time and come prepared..This gentleman cam i guess to Blore for some work and dropped in to pick guys from IBA!!!No talk on job profile, Package!!! He said he didnt come prepared...
I dont think any company would scout for guys in the market just like that. They must be clear as to what type of persons they need and what r the skills required etc. what package they r going to offer.. But why nobody knows these information after even attending PPT is a mystery..Is it co that is not coming out or CRDT which is at fault?
Apart from this, campus is deserted now, as 06-08 hav finished their end term and are out of the campus. I guess the schedule this year for 06-08 is really cool. 1.30 hrs of class duration, breaks between 2 trimester is a welcome step.Hope all these things continue.
One more major development is opening of state-of-art GYM!!! which is about to open shortly. For all the Rambos and Arnolds this is a terrific oppurtunity to show off thier muscles. Our Rambo has already started reading Manuals to Train and Gymming in right earnest. So from now on IBAians will have flat tommy even after eating potatos day in day out!!
